Arnold Celebrates Hannukah!
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger took part in a menorah lighting yesterday, on the Capitol steps, just a week after his Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
Schwarzenegger said, “December is a time to celebrate, celebrate, celebrate." Joined by Jewish leaders from across the state, Hollywood stars Adam Sandler (Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore), Jon Voight and Ivan Reitman (Director of Twins, Kindergarten Cop & Ghostbusters), as well as several hundred onlookers, Arnold called Hanukkah a "holiday of hope" and called on Californians to "rededicate ourselves to our friends and to our families."
The ceremony was the 11th menorah lighting at the Capitol, sponsored by the Chabad of California. The Governor lit the center light of the menorah, a symbol of freedom. He also took part in ceremonial songs and the tradition of gift giving. Global Arnold Staff
