Arnold's Pal, Jon Bon!

After reading our last article on rock n' roll star Jon Bon Jovi supporting Schwarzenegger's polotical career, Arnold fan Maurice Huijs wrote in with some further information on their friendship, as well as some cool pics and a song!

Maurice:

I read your article about Jon Bon Jovi supporting Arnold Schwarzenegger with his politic career. Being both a big Arnie and Bon Jovi fan, I know that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jon Bon Jovi have been friends with each other for quite some years, and like each other's “things they do”.

Their friendship has been expressed throughout the years in various ways.

In 2000 Bon Jovi released their album “Crush.” The second single was the song “Say It Isn't So,” and ofcourse its release was accompanied by a music video. Surprisingly, Arnold Schwarzenegger made an appearance in the clip, together with several other celebrities. Arnold reprised his role as the famous Terminator for this video. He drives on his motorcycle, then sees all the chaos, takes off his shades, looks around at the panicking crowd, puts back on his shades and drives away.

The Bon Jovi DVD “The Crush Tour” features a short behind-the-scene sequence in which we see parts of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jon Bon Jovi together. Jon Bon Jovi tells about Arnie:

“Arnold is an old, old, old friend of mine who I've done a lot with and for over the years. I mean, but to get like the world's biggest movie star to be in a rock n' roll video... unheard of. But, you know, thank God for me, he's an old, dear friend.”

In Bon Jovi's 2001 videoclip “Wanted – Dead Or Alive 2001,” Arnold makes a brief appearance, shaking hands with Jon Bon Jovi.

The most interesting part is a song that was performed solo as a tribute to Arnold Schwarzenegger by Jon Bon Jovi on October 23 1998, Los Angeles. Don't expect some studio quality, this song was bootlegged. But it's a nice rarity to have as a big Arnold fan!
