More Info on New T1 DVD!

As we reported a few weeks ago, MGM will be releasing a new ultimate editon DVD of The Terminator. Arnold fan Mark Jones sent us some more info, which he found at DVDAnswers.com.

MGM has announced the release of The Terminator: Ultimate Edition for the 26th September, priced at around £19.99. The release will feature a new anamorphic widescreen (1.85:1) transfer, both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 audio, the documentaries 'Closer to the Real Thing', 'Unstoppable Force', 'Other Voices' and 'A Retrospective', 'The Legacy of The Terminator' featurette, deleted scenes with audio commentary by James Cameron, two TV ads, three trailers, a still image gallery, scripts (including the original treatment, 1983 fourth draft and final shooting script) and Easter eggs.

So, all in all, this looking to be a great new release! 2 new documentaries, and a Cameron commentary on the deleted scenes (as was provided on the R1 SE). And as for the artwork.... kick ass!

The only thing that makes us wonder, is the whole DTS sound option. The original sound for the movie was in mono, so we hope that this new DTS one hasn't been manufactured in a recording studio by some guy, making cheesy sound effects! And what's all that with the 12 certificate...?! The original SE had it's rating dropped from an 18 to a 15 back in 2000... we don't need any further changes made to it! Cough *T3* cough! Let's hope they stick to the 15 rating... Terminator movies are not for kids, and T1 certainly isn't!
