ARNOLD : “I want to be President!”

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has said that he would like to run for President of the United States!

Schwarzenegger, star of the Terminator and Conan movies, said he would support an amendment to the US Constitution which bans foreign-born people running for the highest office.

Born in Austria, Schwarzenegger said he would like to "shoot for the top."

Arnold spoke about this in an CBS “60 Minutes” interview which will be shown on US TV on Sunday.

The broadcast will follow a weekend of campaigning by the celebrity California Governor on behalf of President George W. Bush, who hopes to be re-elected on Tuesday.

Asked if he would like to see the Constitution changed so he could run for the presidency, he said: "Yes, absolutely. Why not? With my way of thinking, you always shoot for the top."

But he said right now he was too busy in California to consider running for the presidency.

"There are so many things I have to do in California and my promise was to straighten out the mess in California," he said.

Schwarzenegger has proved a popular Governor in California . Asked how he rated himself, he said: "Ten being the highest, I would give myself an eight.

"I think I fell short on some of the things. Probably the communication with the legislators."

He recently clashed with state legislators and called them "girlie men" when they refused to back his budget.
